What is one car/truck that you want AND can currently afford?

And what's the reason it's not in your garage/driveway/parking spot/etc.?

For me, I would choose a 95-96 F150 or Bronco with 5.8L 4x4 or a 95-97 F250/350 Powerstroke 7.3L but nice examples would probably a bit too much. It's also impossible to find one that is not a rust bucket up here in NY. I have ALWAYS wanted one of these badass trucks.

I currently have a 2011 Wrangler Unlimited 4x4 that I hate oh so much and I am waiting for the lease to end in a few months.

So, how 'bout you?

if I both wanted it, AND could afford it, I'd have it

"Afford" is relative I suppose. I suppose I could snag a new M3 if I wanted to, but we just bought a house, other expenses, blah blah.

And what's wrong with your Unlimited? I had one, drove it cross country (and back) and loved it!

That cheap yet well-sorted street legal race car that comes with a bunch of spare parts.

Reason I don't own it? Because it doesn't exist.

A 1st gen Cayman S. I'd have to sell the M3 first, and I absolutely hate dealing with the idiots you encounter when selling a used car. However, I hate getting ripped off by dealers on trade-in even more. That's why it's not in the driveway yet.

Used Cayman S.

Three reasons: Abe, Rachel & James

But I'm making do with an E90 M3.

Both my hard top and soft top leak, it is slow as shit (minivan engine) terrible 4 speed auto, poor build quality, it squeaks, list could go on forever.

It is a badass looking truck though. And it has EXCELLENT visibility.

R129 SL60 AMG. I don't have it because I've already got a Willys and a Bimmer, and my wallet can't take much more abuse.

ROFL, touche.

I had a 2012 which may have been the first year of the new engine. Mine was pretty decent.

Either a F250/350 of the same vintage or a Land Rover Discovery, '98 or older with a 300tdi swap.

afford? I could afford a king ranch off the showroom floor, would it be smart? no.

I'd like a post-'97 manual Jeep Wrangler. I could afford one if it weren't for the fact that I still have under 2 years left of payments on my Ranger. That and the fact that I want to try to chip away at other debt before I take on any more.

I know it's high mileage, but I'm seriously considering getting this for my Daily driver

1995 BMW M3

I suppose I can afford a Lincoln Mark LT, but I'd mostly just drive it to be ironic. I love the sheer ridiculousness of a Lincoln pickup truck, and this one at least has some of the functionality that the Blackwood lacked.

Obviously I don't have one because there are a million other things I'd buy with the money. I just don't need a truck.

If you do some searching, you could find a Fox Mustang with a built engine and suspension with a lot of extra parts for fairly cheap.

So, while it's not the ideal choice for some, it's certainly cheap.

I agree, I've always wanted to throw good sense out of the window, and buy one just for the sake of driving a bizarre unicorn truck. Not that I could even afford a base F150 though...

I want a used 911. Can afford a used 911. Don't have space for two cars yet. It'll have to wait until I have a house with a good sized garage and a driveway. Then I can have a 911 and something old, cool and practical (thinking an FJ60)

Interesting question. I suppose I could afford some cool stuff if I wanted to give up some stuff. We travel a lot and that is more of priority for our fun money than new cars right now. We are also working on the house. Doesn't hurt that we have fun cars (Evo and Mini) already and our LeMons Escort for silly giggles.

I'd go for the following cars:
Used Cayman
Used Aston-Martin
Used Lotus Exige
Used Atom
Model T
Packard V12
62-64 Lincoln Continental
MR2

the list of cars is pages long, but the reason is the wife says 4 cars and 3 motorcycles is too much and i don't want to give up any of the cars / all of the motorcycles. Just got to hold out about 5 more years and I can add on another 2 garage bays...
